During his trip to India, US President planted a peepal tree at the New Delhi memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. The tree story is hot topic in Delhi horticulture department officials, since it is looking just dead without the leaves and glow.

However the single lonely stem of plant is remaining, "It's a seasonal phenomenon," BC Katiyar, a top regional government horticulturist, said on Thursday, after he and other officials visited the tree and pronounced it in good health. "It will send out shoots within the next 10 days." The officials also said that the peepal trees generally lose leaves in this season.

Whatever it is, every plant and tree must be saved and protected for better environment. The tree has got special attention as it was planted by US President Barack Obama.
