Neetu Chandra enters hot water

Actress Neetu Chandra of Ameerin Aadhi Baghavan fame has incurred the wrath of her Tamil fans by writing a positive review of the controversial film, Madras Café. Neetu wrote on her microblogging site, “The only word for Madras Café is... wow. Hats off to Sujeet Sarkar, John Abraham and the whole team. In no offence to Tamil Nadu at all. What efforts, must watch.” Some of her fans on Twitter were evidently upset about Neetu’s views and even threatened to file a suit against her. One of the users wrote that Ameerin Aadhi Baghavan would be her last film in Kollywood as she had hurt the sentiments of the Tamilians. A dauntless Neetu clarified, “I am getting mails and messages from all my Tamil fans and they are upset because I favour Madras Cafe. My dear friends, reacting this way without even watching the film is not fair. Don’t get influenced by a bunch of people who have also not seen the film and assume their views. The Tamil Censor Board has passed the film too. I am sure all of you trust them at least, they have seen the film for sure. Shoojit Sircar is a responsible filmmaker and he would make sure that nothing hurts the emotions of his countrymen. Don’t go by the cover of a book, read it. All of you have the right to have your own view, not an influenced one. Watch it for yourself. I have always loved and appreciated and have been thankful for your genuineness in supporting me for my work in Tamil films and I will always. Thank you again and God Bless.”
