Maniratnam’s directional venture Ponniyin Selvan 2 has created wonders at the Kollywood box office. The film turned out to be the highest-grosser for the year 2023. Enforcement Directorate (ED) and economic intelligence agencies are conducting raids at Ponniyin Selvan maker's head office Lyca Productions premises in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to get a clear picture of the profits.

ED is conducting raids in eight offices belonging to Lyca in the city over the probe of money laundering. ED is closely monitoring the collection numbers and the production house investments in different sectors. The Lyca team has yet to respond to the issue. The production house has some big-budget films in their kitty and a few among them are Kamal Haasan - Shankar's Indian 2 and Rajinikanth170. Subaskaran Allirajan founded Lyca Productions in 2014, which is a sub-group of Lyca mobiles.
