When you move out of your country, there is a very high chance that you may not be able to speak the language of the local people. It can be worse if you are traveling to a country that doesn't have a script which is based on the Latin alphabets. Here is a small tip that will help you to get back to the hotel of stay without problems.
Take a business card from the hotel management. Several hotels have their maps and directions printed on the back of their card in the local language. The cab drivers will find it easier than you trying to explain the directions in your own sign language. Try to take pictures of your hotel, and any other landmarks near by like a big building, popular eatery etc.
