Punjabi Rapper Honey Singh booked for vulgarity!

Rapper Honey Singh was booked by the police in Nawanshahr on Friday for singing vulgar song. To move further, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had on May 14 directed the Punjab government to take action against popular Punjabi rap. 

A Divison Bench including acting Chief Justice Jasbir Singh and Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain had attacked verbally the government for not taking action against the singer so far while Acting Chief Justice Jasbir Singh continued by saying that they are proud of the civilization,  and that heads hung in shame after reading the lyrics of his songs. Highlighting the factor that our "rich culture" is being exploited by such vulgar songs. 

While questioning the Punjab government about the actual reason of being silence, the court had said that Honey Singh is not a foreigner, but an Indian therefore, why can they take any action? While the court referred to Section 294 of the IPC under which a person can be booked for indulging in obscene acts and songs. 

The court while it's last date of hearing was known to have had directed Honey Singh to be present in the court on Tuesday. Since an authoritative command were not issued to him, therefore he did not appear. 

Nevertheless, a large group of youngsters, some to support and others to oppose Honey Singh, were present in the court room. Pertaining to them, the acting Chief Justice was known to have expressed his view that the youth should boycott singers like Honey Singh who are hampering the culture. 

While postponing the case to July 4, the court instructed for issuing fresh notices to Honey Singh in regard to appearing in the court which was known to come during the hearing of a PIL filed by NGO "HELP", which had pursued a direction to Punjab to create some effective mechanism for crushing the immoral impact of vulgar songs.

Vulgarity has become a symbol of fashion and luxury while it has dominated it in every possible ways resulting with hampering our heritage and culture.
