The BBC seems to have emphasised on its quest for a new actor to cast for "Doctor Who", after British actor Matt Smith who have been declared that he is quitting from the fraternity.

Smith played his role as the Doctor. He added that he would bow out in a special Christmas episode of the 50-year-old show.

Matt Smith,  the 30-year-old actor further added that it had been honour for him to play the role as the Doctor.

Matt Smith said that "Doctor Who has been the most brilliant experience for me as an actor and a bloke, and that largely is down to the cast, crew and fans of the show".
