Hours after Ashes finale drew to a thrilling draw at the Oval on Sunday, England players gathered near the pitch to celebrate their 3-0 win in a rather bizarre way.
After the fifth and the last test of the Ashes was called off last evening owing to poor light and England team, which was agonizingly close to victory, was forced to settle for a draw, the teammates stepped on the pitch to celebrate their big win over bitter rivals Australia by urinating on the field.
A source stated that it was quite dark, but lights were on in the grandstands with dozens of people still cleaning up after a late finish, when English cricketers Stuart Broad, Kevin Pietersen and James Anderson walked up and peed on The Oval pitch turn-by-turn to the cheers of their teammates around 11:30 pm
The Australian newspaper, The Age, slammed the England stars and wrote: "England have celebrated their third successive Ashes series win by urinating on The Oval pitch in a distasteful postscript to a thrilling finale."
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra also expressed his distaste at the English players' behavior, labeling it as "disrespectful" ande "most Bizarre" on Twitter.
