Indian skipper Virat Kohli decided to stay away from captaincy in T20s and he stepped down after Team India walked out of the series without making it to the semi-finals. Rohit Sharma will lead the team in T20s and Virat Kohli will join the tour of New Zealand from the second test. He informed the Board that he would be unavailable for the first test. The BCCI announced the squad of Team India for the test series with New Zealand and Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team. The All India Senior Selection Committee finalized the squad and announced it for the test series that will commence from November 25th.
Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Moahmmed Shami have been rested considering the workload management policy of the BCCI. Virat Kohli will join the team and will lead India from the second test match told Jay Shah, the Secretary of BCCI. Shreyas Iyer is making his comeback along with off-spinner Jayant Yadav. India will play two tests with New Zealand starting from November 25th and December 3rd. Team India will also pay three T20s on November 17th, 19th and 21st.
