Team India has been in exceptional form in their tour of West Indies. After sweeping the ODI series, Team India started the T20 series on a great note. The first T20 took place in Brian Lara Cricket Academy last night and West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. India scored a massive 190 for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Rohit Sharma (64), Dinesh Karthik (41 not out), and Suryakumar Yadav (24) are the top scorers for the team. Alzarri Joseph (2/46), Akeal Hoesin (1/140 and Keemo Paul (1/24) took the major wickets among the West Indies bowlers.
Chasing 191 in 20 overs, the top batting order of West Indies tumbled down. Sharmarh Brooks (20), Keemo Paul (19 not out) and Nicholas Pooran (18) are the top scorers for the side. West Indies were able to score 122 runs and the team lost 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin (2/22), Arshdeep Singh (2/24) and Ravi Bishnoi (2/26) took the major wickets and trashed the battling lineup of West Indies. Dinesh Karthik has been named as the Player of the Match. India is leading the five-match T20 series by 1-0. The second T20 between India and West Indies will take place on August 1st, Monday.
