However, Williamson's pursuit of an overseas opportunity during the New Zealand summer has made him unable to accept the central contract offer. Fortunately, New Zealand's schedule for the 2024-25 season is not overly demanding, with minimal bilateral series commitments until the January window.
The upcoming Lord's match in June next year is an exciting prospect. Before that, New Zealand will play their first Test against England at home in November. However, as Williamson continues to serve his nation, he's also found ways to balance his personal and professional commitments. "This is a positive step to help maintain Kane's involvement in international cricket, ensuring he remains a vital asset for the BLACKCAPS, now and in the years ahead. With minimal international cricket in New Zealand during January, he'll be available outside of that period to continue playing a major role for the team," Weenink stated.
The BLACKCAPS have a strong preference for choosing players who have centralized contracts. However, they're willing to make an exception for their all-time best batter, as he remains deeply devoted to the team. This decision may seem a bit unusual, but the team leaders are quite excited about this move, said the spokesperson.
