India's batters quickly chased down their target of 95 runs in just over an hour, completing the task they had started. Ravindra Jadeja's impressive triple-strike triggered a collapse for Bangladesh, who were bowled out for 146 in an extended first session. Despite losing three wickets, Rishabh Pant hit the winning runs, and Yashasvi Jaiswal's 43-ball fifty set up the chase. This victory extended India's lead at the top of the World Test Championship points table, sealing a 2-0 series sweep. The 312 balls India batted in this Test is the second-lowest they have faced to win a Test match, behind the 281 against South Africa earlier this year.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman Islam put on a 55-run partnership, but then Bumrah dismissed Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, and others, leaving Bangladesh at 94 for 7. Bumrah then cleaned up the remaining batters. The pitch was not difficult, but Jadeja and Ashwin's accurate bowling and mounting pressure led to Bangladesh's downfall. When the day started, Bangladesh were trailing by 26 runs, and Ashwin struck first, dismissing Mominul Haque. However, Shadman responded with a series of confident boundaries against Ashwin, boosting Bangladesh's confidence and their lead.

Siraj's initial overs saw a few loose deliveries that allowed Shadman and Shanto to score a couple of boundaries each, although one of those could have been a chance if there had been a third slip fielder. Jadeja quickly made an impact, with Shanto's leg stump being knocked over by a reverse sweep, and Litton being caught behind on a cut shot. Shortly after, Shadman's 101-ball innings came to an end when he pushed a delivery to the gully. Jadeja continued to dominate, dismissing Shakib with a slower, looping delivery that the batter could only chip back to him. With Bangladesh seven wickets down for 94 runs, Rohit Sharma brought back Bumrah, who immediately made an impact.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz's bowling was impressive, but Mushfiqur Rahim delayed the inevitable and extended Bangladesh's lead. Bumrah then dismissed Taijul Islam and Mushfiqur before the lunch break. In India's chase, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, but Jaiswal's half-century helped India cruise in their pursuit. Jaiswal struck the ball powerfully, even hitting a six straight down the field. He and Virat Kohli had a quick partnership of 58 runs, which almost allowed India to win the match. However, Jaiswal misjudged a shot to the off side when only three more runs were needed to win.
