So far, the Pac-12 conference has managed to get eight bowl-eligible teams in its group. And if Washington State and Utah finish strong, then the number might well grow up to 10 in the future.
But the hitch is that, too many teams are vying for bowl slots.
The Pac-12 has managed to get seven bowl tie-ins, including the Rose Bowl. However, with more than 75 teams vying for the 35 bowls, some Pac-12 teams may draw a blank.
'Barring drastic changes, No. 5 Oregon is the conference's lone chance to get a spot in the BCS title game and the Ducks will need some help to get there. The conference also could have just one team in a BCS bowl after Stanford's loss to Southern California last weekend. Still, for a conference that couldn't fill its allotment five times in a decade, it's been a good season,' writes a new source.
