The Indian cricket team's tour of Australia often sparks controversies, but this time, the trip concluded without any major issues. However, a recent incident involving all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has led to a debate. According to some Australian media outlets, Jadeja refused to answer questions in English during a press conference. On the other hand, the actual events reportedly unfolded differently, with Jadeja responding to the Indian media's questions in Hindi, as they had asked him to do so. The press conference was intended for the visiting Indian media, although Australian journalists were also invited to attend.
The media interaction was primarily organized for the Indian media. Even the Cricket Australia representative was informed about this. The message about a chat with Jadeja was sent only on the Indian media's WhatsApp group.
When the Australian media members asked the Indian team's media manager why Jadeja couldn't stay for their questions, he said the team bus had to depart, so the player couldn't stay any longer.
It was not an official and mandatory press conference, and the Indian team's media management had set a limited time period. Therefore, Jadeja was not obligated to ensure that every journalist present had their questions answered.
A few days earlier, India's renowned batsman Virat Kohli had a heated confrontation with some journalists at the Melbourne airport. Kohli had to intervene to prevent his family, especially his children, from being filmed at the airport. He confronted a journalist and asked for his family's privacy to be respected. This incident also sparked a significant controversy.
