Undoubtedly, the Apple Watch is one of the most popular smartwatches in the world. The first Apple Watch was launched almost a decade ago and now Apple is ready to celebrate its success. Building on the landmark's nearly decade-long popularity, Apple is announcing a special 10th anniversary edition, expected to launch in 2024 or 2025. However, there are already some rumors and speculations about the Apple Watch Series 10 (or Apple Watch X). After the poor reception of the Apple Watch Series 9, there are strong rumors that the Apple Watch will be released in 2024 with a new design. The Apple Watch has also had a similar design since its launch. Therefore, the upgrade period is long. As the Apple Watch's 10th anniversary approaches, it's not too much to ask to have a redesigned Apple Watch. According to Mark Gorman, Apple plans to release a thinner version of the Apple Watch, but it is not clear whether this will happen in 2024 or 2025. This year, Apple released the 13-inch iPad Pro M4, its slimmest product ever. Apple may stick with its ultra-slim design philosophy and offer the “thinnest and lightest” products in every category.

Last month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the Apple Watch Series 10 could see big changes with a larger display and a thinner design. Kuo reported that the Apple Watch Series 10 will be available in 45mm and 49mm sizes, with the possibility of an even thinner design. This is a significant increase over the current 41mm and 45mm sizes. In the same month (June 2024), the first CAD renderings of the Apple Watch Series 10 were released. There was a “larger” model with a 2-inch screen, even larger than the 1.93-inch Apple Watch Ultra. . With overall dimensions of approximately 46 x 39.7 x 11.6 mm, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 will be larger than the Series 9 but smaller than the Ultra. Previous rumors suggested a dramatic redesign, but CAD renderings showed no such evidence. Instead, it's a simplified version of the Apple Watch Series 9 with a square screen, similar digital crown and side buttons. The renders also show no signs of a thin frame or the previously rumored magnetic stripe mounting system.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to come with a host of new health features. One of the biggest features is the integrated blood pressure monitor, which smartwatches can use to detect high blood pressure. Although the Apple Watch doesn't offer specific systolic and diastolic measurements, it can tell users if their blood pressure is elevated. The next Apple Watch Series 10 may also come with sleep apnea detection. This feature allows Apple Watch Series 10 to use collected sleep data and breathing patterns to monitor sleep apnea symptoms. There are also rumors that Apple is developing an Apple Watch that can measure blood sugar levels. However, the technology is still in development and likely won't be available in time for the Apple Watch in 2024. The Cupertino tech giant plans to use infrared and other sensors to measure blood sugar levels, eliminating the need to pierce the skin. No one has yet found a way to do this with extreme accuracy.

Apple is working on a new magnetic attachment system that will free up the space occupied by cutouts in the current band attachment points. The available space can be used for larger displays and other internal components, ultimately resulting in thinner bezels. It should be noted that Apple Watches with magnetic band connection systems are not compatible with old straps. It is currently unclear whether the magnetic band system will be available in time for the Apple Watch X launch. If there's one thing I don't like about the Apple Watch, it's the battery life. While most Apple Watch models only last up to 18 hours with normal use, the Apple Watch Ultra lasts between 2 and 36 hours on a single charge. Although you can use Apple Watch's power saving mode to slightly extend the life of your smartwatch, consistent battery life is still high on Apple Watch users' wish lists.

Interestingly, Apple can finally significantly extend battery life with the Apple Watch Series 10. According to The Elec, Apple could use the new low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin film transistor technology in the next Apple. Stay tuned for what’s to come in 2024. In this case, the updated OLED display is more energy efficient than previous models and offers longer battery life. Apple usually introduces new Apple Watch models along with the new iPhone series in September. Unless the giant plans to break with this tradition, the Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to arrive in September 2024.
