Samsung recently made it clear that an affordable Galaxy Fold model will not be available anytime soon. But a flip phone can be a good opportunity for a brand. According to reports this week, the Galaxy Z Flip FE could be announced next year as the company revamps the foldable model and makes it available to a wider audience. We still don't know much about the technical components of this affordable flip phone, but the report also mentions that it could launch in April next year. Samsung's foldables are still expensive, but the Flip models are still reasonably priced. With companies like Motorola launching the Moto Razr at a lower price point, it's time for Samsung to do something new to position itself in the foldable segment and stay relevant.
Samsung's latest foldables have mostly received incremental updates and a dose of artificial intelligence that makes its presence felt. Now the company needs a major makeover, and what better way to achieve that than by releasing a cheap foldable device? As we've seen with the Galaxy S series models over the years, Samsung's FE or Fan Edition versions are relatively affordable. The new Folds are usually released in July of each year, but Samsung could change its plans for 2025 and release them in about six months. We're keeping a close eye on Samsung's plans for 2025, which could potentially double the diversity of the market.
Before that happens, the company will be busy releasing the Android 15-based version of One UI 7, which is already facing delays and is yet to release a beta version. The brand should also focus on the Galaxy S25 series, which may or may not have more products planned for next year.
