Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 Slim alongside the regular Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. While we wait for official details about the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, information about the slim flagship has leaked online. Samsung is expected to use the recently announced ALoP technology for its telephoto camera to make the Galaxy S25 Slim slimmer without sacrificing image quality. The Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to come with a periscope telephoto camera. X advisor Jukanlosreve (@Jukanlosreve) quoted Meritz Securities and claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will use the ALoP (all lenses on the prism) technology announced last month. This technology, developed by Samsung Semiconductor, reduces the thickness of telephoto camera sensors and solves the problem of large protruding camera modules.
Using ALoP architecture, the length of the telephoto module can be reduced by 22% compared to traditional folding camera optics. Reducing these dimensions means there is less camera protrusion and the smartphone becomes slimmer. ALoP places the telephoto lens flat on the front of the phone, making the camera bump smaller and more unobtrusive, giving the impression of a circular lens. This new solution uses a 40 degree tilt prism reflecting surface and a 10 degree tilt sensor assembly. This module offers OEMs a brighter and more compact telephoto camera that delivers images with less noise. As the name suggests, the Galaxy S25 Slim is said to be less than 7mm thick. The device is said to feature a triple rear camera unit that includes a 1/1.56-inch 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP5 sensor. The camera unit is said to include a 1/2.76-inch ISOCELL JN5 sensor with 50 megapixels and an ultra-wide-angle lens as well as a telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. It is said that the regular Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus do not come with this telephoto camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is set to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored to take place on January 23rd. It is said that Samsung will start pre-ordering this phone from January 24th to February 3rd. It will be available in stores from February 4th.
