Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event on Wednesday and announced the Galaxy S25 series and some new artificial intelligence (AI) features. The South Korean tech giant calls its next-generation flagship a “true AI companion,” highlighting that the new One UI 7 operating system has been redesigned to be better optimized for AI workflows. The company has now deeply integrated AI capabilities into its systems and is now available on all devices. These are all the main features of Galaxy AI announced during the event. Now Brief is coming to market as the first ecosystem-based AI feature from a technology giant. This feature provides an overview of the user's device usage and activities throughout the day and displays them in a map interface. Examples shared by Samsung included a morning information card with a weather forecast and energy score. The cards are divided depending on your commute, movement, etc. Specifically, these features pull activity and health metrics from your Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring.

Samsung also introduced the Now Bar, which allows you to easily display Now Brief information on your lock screen. This is a rectangular bar at the bottom of the screen with multiple cards that can be scrolled vertically in a card animation like a deck of cards. In particular, Now Brief and Now Bar are based on Samsung's own personal data engine. The company described its AI system as a personal large language model (LLM) that collects data from users' daily device usage and daily routines. This data is used to create a personalized experience for you. Samsung emphasized that data would only be stored on the device. Another AI feature across the device is AI Select. This is the Samsung version of Circle to Search. This feature allows you to make AI-powered recommendations based on the visual information you see on your screen. For example, when a user uses AI Select for a text message, the tool automatically activates Typing Assistant and all AI-powered writing tools. This function does not use the Internet.

You can also use AI Select to convert parts of your videos into GIFs. Samsung says the tool is located in the side panel when watching a video and allows users to select a specific part of a video and instantly convert it to a GIF. Samsung also makes it easier to find relevant settings menus and search for specific images in the gallery. Users can access Conversation AI in Settings or the search option in Gallery, describe what they are looking for in natural language, and the AI will find their exact item. This feature supports text and voice commands. During the event, the company demonstrated the feature by telling the AI in the settings that “my eyes hurt” and the AI would automatically turn on the blue light filter option. If you ask the AI in the gallery to “find a picture of Max wearing a red coat and eating cake from last winter,” the AI will recognize that Max is a dog and will search for pictures of a specific dog. slow time is separable. meets the requirements. Samsung says that all of these features are also carried out on the device.

The drawing tool has also been improved. Sketch to Image now supports multimodal input and can create images by annotating user-written and selectable lines of text. According to Samsung, this will help users create works of art that were previously difficult to imagine. While the above features are available on the devices' respective screens, Samsung has added several new AI-based features to the cameras. AI capabilities extend to photo and video editing functions. Samsung uses artificial intelligence to allow users to create a personalized look for their photos. Users can select any existing image and the AI will analyze the hue, saturation and brightness to add these elements to the desired photo. The company calls this feature "Personal Filter."

Artificial intelligence has also been added to record video. According to the tech company, AI can now use noise reduction to separate moving and static objects in videos. The company claims this makes low-light videos brighter and more detailed. Audio Eraser is a new Galaxy AI feature that can analyze and separate sounds from videos based on their source. Once isolated, the device offers users the ability to individually adjust the level of each isolated channel. This means users can reduce noise from crowds and car horns and enhance speech in videos taken outdoors on a busy street to make them easier to understand.
