On Thursday, Microsoft unveiled its newest offerings for enterprises, the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, as part of the Copilot+ PC series during their Surface event. The aim of these innovative devices is to deliver scalable cloud computing solutions while ensuring the effectiveness of local AI computations through neural processing units (NPUs). Both the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are equipped with Intel's Core Ultra Series 2 processors, featuring Copilot+ PC functionality designed to improve productivity. The starting price for the Microsoft Surface Pro is $1,499.99, which is approximately Rs. 1,30,000, while the Surface Laptop is also available for the same price. Consumers can purchase both models from select retailers beginning February 18.
The Surface Pro boasts a 13-inch PixelSense Flow display, with a resolution of 2880 × 1920 pixels, and is available in both LCD and OLED formats. It supports a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 900 nits. The display is certified under Dolby Vision IQ and features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for durability. It operates with an Intel Core Ultra 7 268V processor, accompanied by up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and as much as 1TB of Gen 4 SSD storage. The device runs on Windows 11 Pro. There is also an option for businesses to use a variant powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chipsets. In terms of size, the Surface Pro measures 287 x 209 x 9.3mm and weighs 872g. It includes a 1440p Quad HD front-facing camera and a 10-megapixel ultra HD rear camera, supporting facial recognition through Windows Hello. Audio features comprise dual studio microphones with voice focus, 2W stereo speakers enhanced by Dolby Atmos, and Bluetooth LE Audio support.

The Surface Pro offers multiple connectivity options, including two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, a Surface Connect port, and a dedicated keyboard port. It also has Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities. According to Microsoft, the device is capable of providing up to 14 hours of video playback on a single charge. In contrast, the Microsoft Surface Laptop is available in two display sizes: a 13.8-inch model with a resolution of 2304 × 1536 pixels and a 15-inch version with 2496 × 1664 pixels. This laptop shares the same processors, RAM, storage configurations, and connectivity features as the Surface Pro. The smaller model has dimensions of 301 x 225 x 17.5mm and weighs 1.35kg. It can offer up to 20 hours of video playback, as per the company's claims. Both devices are crafted with enterprise-grade security, including the TPM 2.0 chip, BitLocker support, Microsoft Pluton technology, and NFC authentication. Additionally, they are equipped with a dedicated NPU to facilitate local AI processing, enhancing the Copilot+ PC experience.
