Prabhas is gearing up for his new film Kalki 2898 AD directed by renowned director Nag Aswin of Mahanati fame. Although the original plan was for the film to be released in theaters on May 9, 2024, it seems that the producers have decided to postpone the release to the next day. According to our sources, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD are looking at June 20, 2024 as the current release date. Initially, there were rumors that the film would be postponed due to the upcoming local elections. However, the official release date of the has not yet been determined by the producers and the final announcement will be made on April 17th. There were also rumors that Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD will be postponed to May 30, 2024 instead of the original date, but it seems that the makers are considering releasing a later film.
The film attracts great attention, especially because it is the first dystopian film of its kind in Indian cinema. This movie stars a talented cast including Prabhas in the lead role along with Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and many others. This dystopian science fiction movie is not only based on Hindu scriptures but is also set in the unknown world of 2898 AD. The film was shot simultaneously in both Telugu and Hindi and is said to be one of the most expensive Hindi films ever made. The film not only makes an exploration film in a new genre, but also explores themes of Hindu mythology and focuses on the character Kalki, who is believed to be the eleventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Prabhas is already lined up to act in many films. Apart from Kalki 2898 AD, the Rebel star will also be seen playing an important role in Raja Saab, Maruthi's comedy-horror film and reportedly a lot of VFX will be used. The actor has also been roped in to play an honest and angry young cop in Sandeep Reddy's upcoming film Spirit, which is expected to release towards the end of next year.
