Story

Ram Pothineni teamed up with Boyapati Srinu for a complete mass entertainer, Skanda. The film was released in theatres today. Let us take a look at the review.

Story: Two Telugu states chief ministers daughter and son elopes. Andhra Pradesh chief minister Rayudu (Ajay Purkar) wants to seek revenge, but everything changes when Bhaskar Raju (Ram Pothineni) enters. He kidnaps both the state's chief ministers' daughters. The story is about why Ram kidnapped both the CM’s daughters who is Srikanth (businessmen) and what is his relation to CMs’.

Analysis

Regarding Boypati Srinu's movies the audience should never search for logic or sensibilities. In many scenes Boyati miss logic in Skanda also, Boyapati mostly worked as a stunt master rather than in the direction department for this movie. Skanda is a film with a political message, but with an illogical action. Skanda is made by taking scenes from all his movies. Helicopter escape scenes are a new version of this cinematic action universe.  The first half is completely boring with a lack of connection. The second half has an engaging story, but by hinting at the sequel in the end, audience walks out with blatant faces from theatres.

Performance

Ram Pothineni went on a complete transformation for Skanda. Even though it is difficult for the audience to digest RAPO in complete mass, he impressed the audience in a mass avatar in iSmart Shankar. But Ram failed to impress in Skanda. Ram is seen in two roles, where he will be seen as a man from the Seema region of Andhra Pradesh and also a man from Telangana. Ram has gained nearly 10 kgs and has a remarkable transformation for this role. He is extremely stunning, but his roles are ok.

Sreeleela is glamorous. She has danced nicely but has less scope for acting. Rather than Sree Leela, second lead actress Sai Manjrekar is impressive, but has only fewer sequences.  Srikanth is also okay, there is no scope for much acting for him as well. Daggubati Raja is adequate as Ram’s father. Prince is also seen in a negative role and is okay.

Music was a major letdown. Leaving two songs nothing is good to hear, including BGM. Thaman completely failed for Skanda.
