A robbery goes wrong and Ganesh loses the Ganesh idol diamond, which belongs to a Kurnool politician who played with the idol. How does Ganesh get the diamonds and what happens to the money? The answer is Gam Gam Ganesha
Analysis
There hasn't been a true crime drama in Telugu lately. Anand Devarakonda's Gam Gam Ganesha belongs to the same genre but ends up using the same traditional elements in the plot of an ad film and the comedy doesn't generate many laughs. Gam Gam Ganesha had a decent plot on paper but lost its meaning on screen. The non-linear narrative features various tropes, including the heist of rare diamonds and large sums of money changing hands. Gam Gam Ganesha has everything Ganesha, but no standout moments or narrative.
The first half revolves around the hero's seemingly artificial love drama and his determination to become a millionaire after a romantic failure. The first half does not entertain you with the usual car chases and monotonous romantic tension. The second half follows the drama of the main character and his gang of villains as they try to get the opportunity with the help of diamonds and money. The second half adds an unnecessary romantic scenes and marks the song as an extra burden. Jabardasth Emmanuel's comedy doesn't work. Vennela Kishore also appears in another part-time comedy role but fails to do wonders. Apart from some comical scenes, Vennela Kishore's phone call worked well. Gam Gam Ganesha begins with the three concepts of fear, greed and conspiracy. Unfortunately, due to the old story and the bad acting, the director can't properly justify any of them. Overall, Gam Gam Ganesha is a very average movie, nothing special to highlight. Forget the racing and thrills, these crime dramas fail at both crime and comedy.
Performance
Anand Devarakonda may have thought about choosing a contrasting theme for 'Baby', but his performance in Gam Gam Ganesha is nothing special. The heroine Pragathi Srivastava looks good but doesn't play an important role. Nayan Sarika appears as a guest star. Jabarda's Emmanuel played a long role, but none of his dialogues drew laughs. Vennela Kishore was wasted. Raj Arjun's villain is boring. Satyam Rajesh and others filled the page.
Gam Gam Ganesha has an old-fashioned but tried and tested plot in the crime comedy genre, but lacks proper direction. It's like a series of scenes and songs. The background music is loud and you might think it sounds cool, but the graphics are disappointing.
Final Word
Gam Gam Ganesha is a crime comedy without a proper plan and execution
