Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli's upcoming film SSMB29 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of this decade. According to director Vijayendra Prasad, the film will be set against the backdrop of African jungles and will follow the pattern of Indiana Jones Adventures as previously envisioned by the film's screenwriter K.V. The news is already exciting enough, but the latest reports about the film's development are sure to take things up a notch. We hear that director SS Rajamouli has bought the rights to Afro-British writer Wilbur Smith's best-selling novels Victory of the Sun and King Masu. Although there is no official confirmation of this from the authors, the subject matter of both books definitely gives Rajmouli's vision a solid substance. Both books are set in Sudan, Africa, and chronicle the adventures of many characters in the African region.
If these reports are to be believed, the question arises as to whether the process of creating SSMB29 is still pending? However, as already confirmed by Mr. Vijayendra Prasad, the script work for the film has been completed, which suggests that Mr. Rajamouli has acquired the rights to these books for visual representation only. Either way, it's still too early to predict what this visionary filmmaker has in mind. SSMB29 is a new pan-Indian film starring Mahesh Babu, written and directed by SS Rajamouli. The film's music was composed by Oscar winner and long-time collaborator of Rajamouli, MM Kirwani.
It is also believed that Rajamouli's favorite cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar left the film and he was replaced by PS Vinod. More details about the cast and crew are awaited. Talking about the story of the film, it is said that Mahesh Babu's character was probably inspired by Lord Hanuman. There is no doubt that SSMB29 holds the record for the highest budget in Indian cinema. If everything goes according to plan, the film could be released at the end of 2024.
