Narsingi police of Hyderabad city are on the look out for an Infosys techie who has been on the run after his wife was found dead in suspicious circumstances.

Police said Mr Sobhan Raju married B. Tech graduate Shamili last year. ‘He informed his father-in- law, a head constable in RPF, around 9 pm Monday night that Shamili committed suicide,” an official of the Narsingi police station said.

When the parents arrived at her residence at Santhi Nagar colony in Sun City, Shamili was found dead with a serious injury to the head and Mr Raju was found absconding.

The parents told police that Shamili informed them only on Sunday that her husband was harassing her for additional dowry. “We gave Rs.10 lakh and 10 tulas of gold as dowry during marriage last May. Still, he wanted additional dowry,” the parents told journalists.

Based on the complaint of the parents, police have registered a case and formed teams to nab the techie. (J)
