As a part of the pact arrived at for the merger of Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress, speculations were rife that the PRP Chief Chiranjeevi was going to get some state Ministry berths for his colleagues and a Rajya Sabha berth for himself. The speculations were off course discarded then. But today it looks a little realistic as Mr Chiranjeevi is now nominated by the party for the Rajya Sabha seat.  The happy leader today in Hyderabad hosted a `high tea’ for his colleagues in the Congress and some well wishers on his nomination. The party was attended by the top brass of the Congress party. Political critics also feel that this might be the beginning of an active role in the centre for the actor turned politician. So the Indra Sena redy of the film `Indra’ is due for an active role in the UPA government headed by the Congress at the centre.

It may be noted way back in July last year The AICC general secretary, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad talking to newsmen after attending a “high tea” arranged by Mr Chiranjeevi at his residence, , said, “We want him to be a minister in the Union Cabinet. For that he needs to be elected as an MP. At present there are no vacancies in the Rajya Sabha also. So he will have to wait at least for a year.” (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
