The Congress MPs from Telangana region have told the party high command that there was no link between Telangana issue and the by-polls in the state. The MPs have reportedly asked AICC in charge of AP affairs, Gulam Nabi Azad and the state observer, Vayalar Ravi to give a road map on Telangana.
It is known that the Congress top leaders spoke to the MPs on Tuesday evening and asked them to co-ordinate with the party so that they would try to lift the suspension. The discussion went on up to two hours after which the Congress spokesperson briefed the media on approach to the bifurcation demand.
The suspended Congress MPs reportedly stated that the people in Seemandhra region were in favour of separate state. The duo, after they listened to the words of MPs, said they would convey the same to the high command.
It has to be mentioned here that the moment MPs were suspended, rumours and doubts were high in air whether this decision was taken as a part of the party’s move to win a couple of seats in by-polls that are going to take place in 18 constituencies. The Congress leaders, however, clarified that there was no link between by-polls and T issue.
The political scene in the state has been taking new turns with each passing day with every political party and leader presumably shifting their focus to AP politics. Yesterday’s suspension of MPs undoubtedly became the topic of town not just in Hyderabad but across the country. (Phani)
