ICSE schools in Southern India preserves number one spot!

Remarkable fact remain that The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) schools in the Southern Region continued to continued to hold the number one position in the country in both ICSE (class 10) and ISC (class 12) 2013 examinations.

The results were declared on Friday that's on 17th May 2013.

Furthering with the results, Karnataka which consists of 258 schools recognized by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination remain in the third highest with regard to the number of ICSE schools in the country following behind West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh while Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, recorded 99.66 per cent passes in the ICSE examination, which is 1.46 per cent above the overall ICSE pass percentage.

Out of the total 1,40,878 students which include 232 students from abroad, who took the exams in five regions (North, South, East, West and Foreign), 24,963 students emerged in the southern region. As well as in the south region, the ISC exam known to have topped with 98.28 per cent, with 4,718 students passing the examination, while the overall ISC pass percentage stood still at 95.15. While a total of 64,043 students took the exam across the country, and this included 177 students from abroad.

Gerry Arathoon, Chief Executive and Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, which conducts ISCE and ISC examinations mentioned that ICSE schools in the southern States had consistently been doing well over the past few years and as a special mention the quality of ICSE schools in the south is exceptionally good.

Now, the interesting fact prevails that schools in the Southern Region have performed the best, followed by the western region which recorded 97.17 per cent passes according to intimation after implementing a region-wise analysis of the ISC exam on the basis of information provided by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination.
