The US' most wanted intelligence espionage Edward Snowden has finally decided to take ad-hoc refuge in Russia. Mr. Snowden, who is “wanted” by the US, is accused of leaking details of government surveillance programmes to the press.

The Federal Migration Service Officials confirm that the former undercover agent has now applied for a temporary asylum in the country. He is done with the paperwork at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, where he has been staying for the past three weeks.

Since, the former agent has no travel documents, he has been denied asylum in most Latin American states. So he has made his mind to take refuge in Russia for now.

"He reached the conclusion that he needs to write an application for temporary asylum, and this procedure has just been done," said Anatoly Kucherena, a lawyer with the Kremlin who assisted Snowden with the paperwork.

"For now he is not going to go anywhere. For now he plans to stay in Russia," he said.

In the meantime, the White House urged that the fleeing Snowden should be belched and face trial in the US.
