A teen was shot dead at the Glendale parking lot on late Saturday night.

Glendale police Sgt. Jay O'Neill said officers rushed to the crime scene soon after receiving a call near Northern and 43rd avenues around 11:15 p.m.

“The teen was shot in the strip mall parking lot and later died at a local hospital,” O'Neill said. The victim's name has been kept under wraps owing to his young age.

The killer hotfooted from the scene soon after he fired the gun. Officials describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, about 5-feet-9-inches tall with a stocky build and dressed in all-black.

Glendale detectives are interrogating the witnesses and carrying out an extensive search of the area to locate the suspect.
