This year, be prepared to shell out more for your Thanksgiving dinner as the cost of a holiday turkey dinner with all the trimmings is upsurging. An Arizona family of 10 will have to spend $48.63 on their Thanksgiving dinner compared to $47 last year.
The Arizona Farm Bureau revealed that a 16-pound turkey was sold for $20.80 in Arizona this year. A pound of it was charged $1.30. This means there has been a surge of 10 cents per pound, or $1.60 from last year.
It's for the third year, the bureau is conducting an organic price survey on the basic food items that are a part of any standard Thanksgiving table.
"The organic dinner with all the trimmings will cost nearly twice that of the non-organic meal. The biggest ticket item was a 16-pound organic turkey at $48, or $3 per pound," writes Ktar.com.
