The killer winter storm that has already lashed the cities of Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and other Southwestern part of the country and has killed eight people so far is eastbound now.

According to the met forecast, the Arctic mass is expected to breathe storm on Tuesday and Wednesday, some of the busiest travel days of the year.

More than 300 flights have been called off at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, which is about one-third of the scheduled departures. A deicing equipment has also been prepared as officials gussy up for the worst in a flurry of conference calls and meetings.

“It’s certainly going to be a travel impact as we see the first few people making their way for Thanksgiving,” National Weather Service meteorologist Tom Bradshaw said.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for chunks of North Texas, parts of Oklahoma and north of Dallas.
