An Arizona Department of Corrections officer is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in his home.
An Arizona Department of Corrections officer has resigned following his arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in his home.
Department spokesman Doug Nick said Friday that 25-year-old Morgan Lichaczewski resigned prior to his arrest.
Pinal County Sheriff's deputies took Lichaczewski into custody Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Office says Lichaczewski and his fiancee hosted a baby shower and birthday party for Lichaczewski on Oct. 26 that included heavy drinking.
The 27-year-old victim told authorities Lichaczewski attempted to sexually assault her while she was sleeping on a couch.
Lichaczewski allegedly then walked into a bedroom where a couple was sleeping and attempted to remove a second woman's clothing.
The victim woke up and Lichaczewski left the room.
Sheriff Paul Babeu says deputies were called and have been investigating the incident since.
