Delhi electorate is all set to decide the fate of political groups and the result of their mandate can be known to us on 10th of this month. Though many parties are in the arena, main fight shall be between AAP and BJP, if Congress does not receive any surprise from the Delhiites.

Parties and contestants played many games during the election campaigning, however, people watched all these patiently waiting for this day. There are 70 constituencies in Delhi assembly and the magic figure to form the government is 36. In 2013 people have given confusing verdict, which led to uncertainty and fresh elections.

For this time, a total of 673 candidates are in the fray including 63 women contestants. Over 13.3 million voters can cast vote, among them around 5.9 million are female.

The AAP won 28 of the 70 seats in its election debut, and the BJP finished with 31 seats (five less than the 36 needed to form a government).

 Voter turnout till 9 a.m. is 5.7% overall

At 8.40 CM candidate Kiran Bedi exercised her vote outside Uday Park polling booth, at 9:45 AAP CM candidate Arvind Kejriwal casted his vote at BK Dutt Colony. at 09:40 am Congress president Sonia Gandhi voted at Nirman Bhawan. Congress' president Sonia Gandhi speaking to the media, said, "Whatever people want will happen."

09:54 am: BJP candidate Nupur Sharma casted her vote in New Delhi she is fighting on former CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Turnout recorded till 11 am is 19.6%. Here's the area-wise break-up:

Central Delhi        15.5%

East Delhi              20.9%

New Delhi              18.6%

North Delhi             17.7%

North East Delhi      22.5%

North West Delhi     20.3%

South Delhi             19.5%

South West Delhi      21.3% 

West Delhi              19.6%

10:10 am: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi voted at Aurangzeb Lane polling booth 

Update at 1: 30 pm

Voter turnout till 1 PM 35.48%

Voting pace has gone down, and new controversy is going on after Nupur Sharma's comment on AAP as Anti- Aurat party, because of AAP's action at polling booth. BJP's CM candidate has got a video saying parties distributing money and food for vote.

Update at 3 pm IST

Till now 50% voters casted their votes amid flow of complaints to EC over various issues and allegations.

AAP alleging Kiran Bedi has violated the election code by doing padyatra (foot march).

Post Poll Analysis

Election Commission announced that this election has been unprecedented in terms of voter turn out, poll percentage has crossed 67.08%

Today also parties played too much, BJP and AAP some times Congress tried to be in news to highlight themselves. However, the exit polls announced after the election process, saying Kejriwal may get the CM chair for full term as BJP may get less than 30 and Congress only 2-4.
