Recently AAP chief, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal claimed that the corruption in Delhi has come down by 70-80% by referring his daughter’s example.
Fighting corruption was one of the main agenda during the state’s elections. After coming to power for second time, it has made some effective changes for the benefit of general people. On April 5, AAP government had re-launched its anti-corruption helpline 1031 urging people to send videos related to corruption.
The helpline received over 1.25 lakh calls. Addressing a meeting of auto rickshaw drivers in Burari in Outer Delhi, Kejriwal narrated his daughter’s tale on how the official behaved when she tried bribing them for issuing a driving license.
"My daughter went to get her learner's driving license. I could have called the department and officers could have made it for me. But my daughter went to the office and waited for her turn. She told the officer (without revealing her identity) that she is not carrying one of the certificates which were required and the officer declined to make her license," he said.
Further adding, Kejriwal told "She further tried to bribe him by offering money. As she offered money (to test him), this officer started looking at her phone to find out if she was making a video. My daughter insisted that it was urgent and she was ready to pay any amount but the officer refused it,"
The Chief Minister asked the drivers to be faithful to their work.
