A 29-year-old woman in Arizona stabbed and killed her three young kids before wounding herself in the North Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix police spokesman Sergeant Trent Crump, the bodies of 8-year-old Jaikare Rahaman, 5-year-old Jeremiah Adams and 2-month-old Avery Robinson were found inside the home. The youngest child was found in a case, the two other sons were wrapped in clothes inside a bedroom closet at the residence.
The woman was identified as Octavia Rogers, 29, remained in critical condition from self-inflicted stab wounds. She was expected to survive.
"This was an absolutely horrific scene for the officers and for her brother to arrive to" Crump said.
Rogers posted often on her Facebook page about her children. “I'm just grateful to have amazing kids,” she said in one post. “I thank God and my grandmother for the wisdom to be able to raise them into great young men.”
Rogers’ mother, Tanella McCoy, said that, “She lived with me, so I didn’t understand what she had to be so overwhelmed about.” “It wasn’t like she didn’t have help.”
"She didn’t go out, she didn’t party, she didn’t do any of that," McCoy said. “I never knew anything was wrong.”
“I don’t know what to feel right now. I don’t know where to go, I don’t know where to turn,” McCoy said. “My daughter knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would take her kids, because there were times she would talk to me about leaving for the summer.”
