Phoenix:
Several homes were evacuated Wednesday evening after a likely natural gas explosion at a church in Phoenix, firefighters said.

The explosion was reported near 15th Avenue and Buckeye Road, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Firefighters said search dogs are being sent to confirm no one is inside the structure.

Homes were evacuated north and west of the church.

Firefighters said there is a possibility the church collapsed and the natural gas leak occurred after the collapse.

The cause of the explosion and collapse is under investigation.
