The Department of Transportation and Flood Control District of Maricopa County are alert with their eyes on the rains, radar and they are constantly gauging the water levels while letting the other agencies in.
They are taking a look at which roads to close because of the ongoing flood alerts and floods.
The Flood Control Director of FCDMC, Stephen Waters, says that they are even more vigilant during the wintertime storm as it takes longer to get over the storm.
Waters said, "Summer storms come and go very quickly and as do the floods, but in the wintertime, it can last for longer periods.”
He mentions, irrespective of time during the year, the staff is well prepared when there is floodwater or the storm's attack.
He stated, "The nice thing about having done this for 60 years as a Flood Control district is that we have everything in place, and it's ready to go anytime a flood might happen by."
