Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the White House, the official residence of the USA president on Wednesday. He was welcomed by US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. Biden hosted a special dinner for Modi and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and US counterpart Jake Sulivan has joined them in a private party.
Narendra Modi has gifted a sandalwood box to President Joe Biden and a 7.5-carat eco-friendly green diamond, lab-grown diamond to First Lady Jill Biden. The sandalwood box contains Lord Ganesha, a diya and Das Danam (Drishta Sahasrachandro), gifts for the person who has seen one thousand full moons (that is after completing 80years, Joe Biden is celebrating his 80th birthday this November). The 7.5-carat eco-friendly diamond was wrapped in a paper pulp box known as Kar-e-kalamdani. Along with this Narendra Modi also gifted a copy of the first edition of the book, “The Ten Principal Upanishads”.

Joe Biden gifted a handmade, antique American book gallery to Modi. They also gifted him a vintage camera, a first copy of “collected poems of Robert Frost”, a vintage American camera and a hardcover book on American wildlife photography. Besides this, there will be a separate dinner hosted by the first lady tomorrow, which has 400 guests on the list.
