Chinese President Xi Jinping may skip the G20 summit, which is happening in New Delhi. Instead of him, Prime Minister Li Qiang might represent the country. There is no official confirmation from the Chinese government about the Xi Jinping tour cancellation.
This creates one more tension as there are already strong diplomatic protest against China after the Chinese official map was released claiming Arunachal Pradesh in Chinese territory.
Besides this Russian President Vladimir Putin is also out at the Summit because of the Russia-Ukrainian war. Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov will represent Russia at the G 20 Summit.
However, the claims of China are being criticized. External affairs minister S Jaishakar alleged that it's an old habit of China to include neighbouring country areas in their maps and show them as if they belong to them. China is known for creating tensions along the Chinese border, even their leaders always fail to maintain peace and tranquillity across the borders areas.
G20 will be held in New Delhi on September 9th and 10th. US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has already confirmed their participation in the summit.
