When asked about the cancellation of NSA talks between India and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, former CM and mentor of NC, told TOI that talks are necessary and resumption of talks is urgent to save innocents living across boarder villages. He said that cancellation of NSA talks means firing will continue in J&K and it’s a tragedy for the state.

Farooq Abdullah warned Pak NSA Sartaj Aziz not to talk on nuclear bombs and said it is absolutely crazy for a former foreign minister and a senior diplomat to talk about nuclear weapons. Reminding about Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing, Farooq said that not even a single inch of grass in growing there. He asked if Aziz wants that to be repeated again in J&K. He cautioned Sartaj Aziz not to talk about bomb as innocents will die and even Aziz saab will die due if the bomb falls.

Remembering Vajpayee's words when he went to Pokharan during which tests were conducted, Farooq Abdullah said Vajpayee at that time revealed that India will not be the first one to use this and have this as a deterrence, only to tell people not to take us for granted and we can defend ourselves.
