Bollywood star Salman Khan may not host Bigg Boss 8 as rumours are rife that the actor has himself opted out of the TV reality show. Reports suggest that Salman's requests were not complied with by the channel so the deal fell. Most important reason for Salman being unhappy with the producers of Big Boss is regarding TV actor Kushal Tandon's re-entry into the house, which the Bollywood actor didn't want.

Bigg Boss 7 was Khan's fourth year of hosting the reality show and the actor was getting mired into controversies with each year. The actor has been accused of being judgemental or of favouritism. In Bigg Boss 7, Salman was a accused of favouring Armaan and Tanisha and being biased towards Kushal Tandon.

At an earlier show actress-socialite Pooja Bedi, a contestant in Bigg Boss 5 went public about her opinion regarding Salman mistreating her co-contestant Sky and accused him (Salman) of attempting to confuse, lie, demoralise and hurt him.
