Story
Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) and Majnu Bhai (Anil Kapoor) in Welcome Back but the surprising thing is that they are ex-goons. Uday and Majnu turn to Dr Gungroo (Paresh Rawal) who has recently learned he has a ready-made son Ajju Bhai aka Ajay (John Abraham). Ajju falls in love with Ranjana (Shruti Hassan) and Honey (Shiney Ahuja), son of Wanted Bhai (Naseeruddin Shah) who is a druggist falls in love with Ranjana. Making all these in one frame in Dubai, the movie passes and is about what happens next. Watch the film to know about the rest.
Analysis :
The first half of the movie lacks proper content however it has been managed by the entertainment which doesn’t irritate the audience completely. The romantic episodes have been shown in a hurry which do not bring the feel. On the whole the first half of the movie is ok but not great.
The second half of the movie lacks everything and the film dips completely. The screenplay and the narration of the movie have been completely below the line which make the film horrible. The entire star cast has been completely wasted and the second half of the movie is the major drawback of Welcome Back.
Performance :
The movie has a huge star cast and everyone performed with ease and perfection. Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor have been superb and because of the duo, the first half of the movie has been watchable. John Abraham has been limited but he has been decent. Shruti Hassan is very good as a troubled sister in the movie. Paresh Rawal has been assigned a short and crisp role in which he has been decent. All others have been impressive in their assigned characters.
The movie does not have a strong plot and the screenplay has been loose and confusing. The editing has not been up to the mark and some of the one liners have been decent. The music of the movie has been ok and so is the background score. The production values have been lavish however the failed to entertain the audience.
Final Word:
Welcome Back is not the right film carrying such huge star cast. A story written without interesting stuff and a clumsy narration makes the film end up as a disaster. It can be ignored.
