If you love to have a heavy non-vegetarian curry, try this Beja Fry masala recipe. It goes well with naan or roti. Bheja fry or brain fry masala is one such popular and mouth-watering dish cooked on Bakra Eid (Eid-ul-zuha).
Ingredients required for Beja Fry masala recipe
Brain piece of goat
Turmeric powder: 1tsp
Garam masala powder: 1 /4tsp
Crushed coriander seeds: 1/4tsp
Crushed red chili: 1/2tsp
Red chili powder: 1/2tsp
Crushed cumin seeds: 1/4tsp
Onion: 1 (chopped)
Tomato: 1 (chopped)
Green coriander leaves
Green chili: 2
Dried fenugreek: 1/4tsp
Julienne ginger
Oil: 1/4cup
Cinnamon stick: 2
White vinegar: 1tbsp
Ginger garlic paste: 1tbsp
Salt and pepper to taste
Method of preparation for Beja Fry masala
• Blanch brain piece in cinnamon sticks, turmeric powder, white vinegar for few minutes in hot boiling water.
• Take it off the heat, remove the upper skin and leave for cooling.
• Heat oil in a frying pan, add onion, ginger garlic pate, stir fry for few minutes.
• Add crushed cumin seeds, tomato, coriander seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili and cook for few minutes.
• Add white vinegar, green chilies, salt and pepper. Mix till you get uniform consistency.
• Chopped blanched brain. Ad into masala, stirring gently. Cook for few more minutes and turn flame off.
• Garnish with julienne ginger, green coriander and green chilies.
