Veteran Indian Actor Saeed Jaffrey has died at the age of 86 after suffering a brain haemorrhage in London. The actor played a range of roles in dozens of Bollywood and international films.
Collapses due to brain hemorrhage in London
Jaffrey played in more than 100 Bollywood productions. He started with Indian films as Satyajit Ray's Shatranj ke Khiladi. He was seen in A Passage To India, Gandhi and The Man Who Would Be King. Jaffrey earned a Bafta nomination for role in My Beautiful Laundrette, which he played in 1985.
His niece Shaheen Aggarwal announced his death news on Facebook on Sunday, saying, "Today, a generation of Jaffreys has passed away. Saeed Jaffrey has joined his brothers and sister and is rejoicing in the lap of his Heavenly Father, eternally."

Jaffrey was born in 1992 in India. He began his career as theatre actor. According to Jaffrey Assoc, he was the first actor from India to tour Shakespeare across the US besides staring in a major Broadway role. He appeared in many TV dramas like The Far Pavilions, Tandoori Nights and Gangsters, and became a hosehold name in the UK.
The Nawab of Mirat in The Jewel In The Crown as well as the role of Ravi Desai in the soap opera Coronation Street are his role that known best. Coming to big screen, Jaffrey starred opposite Michael Caine and Sean Connery in 1975's The Man Who Would Be King. He played Patel in 1982 in Oscar-winning Gandhi.
