The Grand Celebration of Arts: Five Most Prestigious Film Festivals

Movie making is probably the most difficult art as to make a movie simultaneously you need to have many traits of people associated with other forms of art .To be able to become a filmmaker you need to have the restlessness of a poet, intensity of a story writer, an undying lust for life like a novelist , the perfect sense of aesthetics of a painter  or the rhythm of a dancer and even a profound insight of a zen master.

But love it or hate it, you need to have an audience too, like all other artsy people , to keep the fire of your passion burning forever you need critics and you need a platform to showcase the many hates that you have worn during the process of making the film. Luckily , even though we live in cynical times , still we have people who truly appreciate this form of expression  and we have places where  you can wear your skin inside out and get some remarkable accolades if your final product is as aesthetically pleasing  as it should be. Read on to know about five places or to be accurate five most prestigious platforms ( popularly known as film festivals) which are definitely the wonderful Neverlands  for any film maker.


1) Cannes Film Festival:

The Mecca for Film makers ...the ultimate fantasy...The Festival de Cannes has been running every summer since 1946 in the south of France. Considered one of the most exclusive and highly regarded film festivals in the world, the Cannes Film Festival attracts many stars each year -- and hordes of paparazzi as well.


2)Berlin International Film Festival:

Founded in 1951, the Berlin International Film Festival, also called the Berlinale, is one of the world's leading film festivals and most reputable media events held in Berlin, Germany. Celebrated annually in February, up to 400 films are shown, representing a comprehensive array of the cinematic world. Films compete for the prestigious Golden and Silver Bears Awards.

3) Sundance Film Festival:


Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival, held in the mountain resort town of Park City, Utah, seems to grow bigger every year. The festival is no longer just for independent filmmakers; it's become a huge event for the Hollywood elite and who's who of world cinema as well.

4) Venice Film Festival

Founded by Count Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata in 1932, the Venice Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world. The festival takes place every year in late August or early September in Venice, Italy with screenings at the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi.

5) Toronto International Film Festival:

The festival in Toronto is a highly regarded gathering that is a highlight in the film industry's year. Rising stars and fresh talent can be found in Toronto each year. Several hundred films are screened each year for the public and industry insiders .


Apart from the these festivals, We have other prestigious platforms like Tribeca Film Festival , Milan film festival, Locarno film festival, Los Angeles Film Festival , Sao Paulo International Film Festival ,all of them serves only one purpose and that is they celebrate films and since art imitates life  they celebrate life too...
