Maria Lorena Marin, born to British mother Maxime Marin, may be just a couple of days old, but the infant is creating quite a buzz around the world post her arrival. Apparently, the supersized baby, delivered ormally' at Hospital Marina Salud in the Mediterranean city of Denia, Spain, is drawing all attention for her weight — recorded 13lb 7oz (6.095kg). She was born after a five-hour long labor sans any pain relief. The baby is almost double the weight of an average baby.

Earlier this year, a Californian woman gave birth to a child  called Jayden Sigler who weighed 6.293kg (13lb 14oz)  at the time of his birth. His mother, Cynthia Sigler, gave birth to the heavy baby through Caesarean section.

Very recently, Baby George King took to the list of one of the heaviest babies born naturally in England. The little prince weighed 15lb 7oz (7.002kg) during birth.

In 2012, a Chinese woman delivered a baby weighing15lb 8oz (7.030kg), the heaviest baby in China.

Almost 60 years ago, a baby boy weighing 22lbs 8oz (10.205kg) was born to Carmelina Fedele in Aversa, Italy.

Apparently. the heaviest baby ever born  weighed 23lb 12oz (10.773kg), according to the Guinness Book of World Records. However, the baby born in Canada in 1879, died 11 hours later after its birth.
