Has you pet ever flown first class? No, isn't it? Most of us have not experienced a first class flight, leave aside our pets. But, some homeless Chihuahuas from San Francisco have been really lucky. They had a swanky ride from San Francisco International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
Actually, the airlift of the pups is part of Virgin America’s Operation Chihuahua. The special flight was started in 2010 to address the problem of Chihuahua overpopulation in San Francisco. The teacup dogs are being sent to East Coast shelters, where they are more likely to be adopted by New Yorkers dwelling in apartments.
The cute pups got a red carpet send-off. Boo, “World’s Cutest Dog” and Virgin America’s official pet liaison were both onboard to give a send-off to the Chihuahua. There were arrangements of live TV, toys, snacks and also 'chi-mosa' cocktails. So far five airlift of the Chihuahuas by Virgin America have been undertaken. Amazing!
