A Pennsylvania town organized a mushroom drop ceremony to celebrate the New Year.
Just at the stroke of midnight, a giant, lighted mushroom was lowered 80 feet from a crane in the center of town.
The town, which is about 40 miles southwest of Philadelphia and prides itself as the Mushroom Capital of the World because of its extensive mushroom cultivation, launched a stainless steel mushroom, about eight feet wide and 7½ feet tall, and weighing almost 700 pounds to kick start 2014.
