An Australian man woke up with sharp pain in his right ear and immediately rushed to the hospital only to be told that a cockroach has crept into his ear. Doctors immediately poured out some olive oil and plucked out the roach when dead.

Hendrik Helme told radio station 105.7 ABC that he figured some creature was to blame, so tried to suck it out with a vacuum then flush it out with water. Those efforts apparently made the roach angrier and burrow deeper, causing more pain, Huffington Post says.
