After-school programmes at Boys & Girls club in Phoenix are helping students to improve their grades and provide lots of opportunities to get success in their careers. These classes are playing a big role to develop their personality and make clear their views towards the future.
A high school student, Brad Braun, who joined Boys & Girls club, a month ago said that, “I used to be that normal one that would just barely pass through the grades, I am actually getting a lot better on my grades. Why? Because they keep helping with it.” Club is offering several opportunities and help me to get set for college as well, he added.
The club is helping students to get set for the college. The club is working as the bridge between their journey from high school to graduation and help them get into college and university after completing high school without making the students tensed and nervous.
Teen specialist, Aaron Johnson told, “I have been impacted by someone other than my parents or other than teachers or other than coaches that I have had in my life, hey, I'm here, I care, no strings attached. I just want to see you be the best that you can possibly be.”
According to the KPHO/KTVK, the graduation rate of kids that attended Boys & Girls club is nearly 97 percent. About 78 percent of Arizona high school students, graduates on time. The club is not only about developing a relationship and helping them in their home works, it actually motivates and inspire students, so that they can achieve their goals.
According to Justin Low, President of Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix Connect Volunteer, “Because what they offer kids is the American dream, right, It doesn't matter where you come from. If you work hard and get an education and do some of the right things, you can be successful, you can have all kinds of success in your career, but I think true happiness comes from helping other people and being involved” he added.
