Yoga with goats! Its a new trend for Yoga professionals in Gilbert. It has been three months since April Gould first organized a "goat yoga" class at her farm in Gilbert, and now its very popular in the county.
At present, it is the only place offering outdoor yoga classes with goats in metro Phoenix. Arizonans can't get enough of the Instagram-ready trend.
Gould said that, "I kind of thought it was going to be a fun, trendy, kind of goofy thing, but I didn’t expect to have this kind of response." "I love the people that come. I feel like it’s just a big party and everyone leaves so happy."
The classes are being hosted on the farm near Ocotillo and Lindsey roads. A sold-out crowd of about 60 people participate for each class to bend and twist among eight friendly, pregnant goats in an acre of pasture.
People inside and outside the state are coming to join the classes. The organizer, Gould is hosting a separate class for a group coming from Oklahoma for goat yoga.
Gould, a 38-year-old mother of three and self-proclaimed "goat whisperer", said that, "Usually people that come don’t really know each other.
They might come with one or two people they know, but everyone leaves laughing and happy and smiling." "I think we're just bringing the community together," Gould said.
